“This installation, called TIIFEC, is loosely based on the science-fiction novel called ‘Roadside Picnic’, written by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. In the book follows an institution calling itself TIIFFEC, ‘The International Institute for Extraterrestrial Civilizations’. The installation is split into three separate ‘rooms’. They are situated in the same space, but decided by a wall made specifically for this installation. These three separate installations represent three people heavily involved in the TIIFEC institution.
Each ‘room’ tells each persons story within that particular space, but all three approach this space in a different and unique way. Because of this changing perspective, each person tells the story in a different way. Notice for instance, that even the color of the plinth is somewhat different. The spectator never has an overview over the complete installation because of the wall separating all three ‘rooms’. Thus, the onlooker has to approach each installation separately. Thus, because of this, the spectator has to connect the dots his of herself.”
